Friday, July 04, 2008. Fire personnel from Alvarado, Lillian, Venus and Briaroaks battled a multi-alarm fire on FM 917 east of Happy Hill just after noon Friday. With temperatures in the mid-90s, fire personnel found themselves faced with a fully engulfed manufactured home, as well as heat exhaustion. To help battle the heat, the fire fighters rotated in and out frequently to cool down and replenish liquids.
